MVRP PROJECTS

Debut Project:

Weed Pull

The MVRP picked two buildings in downtown Overton, NV to spruce up. Volunteers brought their yard tools and went to work pulling weeds and cleaning up the properties. This was a great way to introduce ourselves and goals to the community while creating some much needed curb appeal.

Spirit Day July 4th

4th of July is a great day for businesses to decorate and show community pride. This yearly event has been fun for both the businesses and the community.  1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners are awarded a plaque with their name on it which they get to keep. The first place winner also gets their  businesses name on a traveling plaque  which they are able to hang in their business all year. The plaque then moves to the next winner each year.

Make a Difference Day

Make a Difference Day was the MVRP's first BIG project.  We picked a local business who constantly gives to the community, Sugar's Home Plate restaurant.

ACE, in Overton, donated heavy equipment and paint while volunteers painted the awning of the building. Local artist Joan Rainey Day, who has done many murals in the Moapa Valley and Virgin Valley, donated her time talent and supplies, and painted a mural on the front of the building.  This mural has gotten tourist stopping to click pictures and go in for a hearty meal!

Fire It Up Expo

The Valley of Fire Stage Race was a weekend bike race event in the Moapa Valley. The MVRP Sponsored and Organized an EXPO with vendors, entertainment and food for both the community, participants, their support staff, and spectators.
